On April 7th and 8th, 2016, Tarik Nesh-Nash of GovRight will participate via online in the Deliberative Constitutionalism Conference at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. The conference will feature a number of themed topics including Democratic Legitimacy, Constitutions and Deliberation as well as International Design.
This conference is an initiative of the Australian National University/McGill Project on Deliberative Governance and Law and is being funded, in part, by an Australian Research Council Discovery Project, ‘The Law of Deliberative Democracy: Theory and Reform.’
Tarik’s presentation on April 8th at 1 p.m. local time is entitled “Legislation Lab: A new tool for engaging citizens in the legislative process.” Tarik will summarize the Legislation Lab platform that has already been launched in more than 10 countries.
Legislation Lab, a GovRight initiative, is introducing concepts such as crowdsourcing, real-time analysis, voting and commenting to citizens in order to encourage and engage them in the legislative decision-making process.
On behalf of GovRight, Tarik is very grateful to be part of this conference and to be able to meet and work with an esteemed group of colleagues.
